My Disneyland Experience

Recently, I went to Disneyland in California. The trip was hosted by the school band, and because I’m part of the band, I was invited to the trip. It was a new experience, and I had lots of fun at Disneyland, even though I didn’t go on many rides.

The first day, the band all took a bus to Disneyland. It was a seven-hour long bus ride, and we were all tired when we finally arrived at our destination, Anaheim Hotel. The hotel was a classic hotel, with two beds and a bathroom. Because the band had so many members, there were four people in a room. Since we arrived at the hotel at 11:00 pm, my roommates and I brushed our teeth and went to sleep.

The second day, we were all excited because we finally got to go to Disneyland! After breakfast, we all got organized and went into the entrance of Disneyland. Instead of going to Disneyland, we went to California Adventure instead. Once we got through the entrance, we all scattered to the different rides. Because I had motion sickness, I didn’t go on any serious rides, and mostly waited at the entrance for my friends to finish their rides. I found out something of a “secret” this day. Instead of buying bottled water, you can ask a staff member at a restaurant to give you water, and they are obligated to give you a cup of water. So instead of spending lots of money on a bottle each time we were thirsty, we just asked for water and saved money. The only downside this day (and the entire trip) was that it was hot. With the mass of people and the sun beating down on us, we were all sweating within an hour. The band spent the entire day at California Adventure, and only returned to the hotel late at night.

The second day, we went to actual Disneyland. But this day was different. We had to perform on stage and showcase our music to the public at Disneyland. First, we went to a recording studio, where we experienced what it was like to be a professional musician. At the recording studio, we played many different excerpts of songs from Disney movies, such as the Lion King and The Incredibles. After we played the excerpt, a technician overlayed the music on top of the scene from the movie, and we can listen to our recording. Afterwards, we got ready for our public performance of our music. The performance went great, and all went smoothly. When our performance was done, we packed up our instruments and went out to play in Disneyland. Like yesterday, we only returned to the hotel near midnight.

The third day was the final day at Disney. We went to Disneyland downtown to shop for souvenirs, and then we returned home on the bus. At lunch time, our bus stopped at a plaza and let us get food before continuing the trip back. When we finally arrived back home, we were all reflecting on the memories of our time at Disneyland. I certainly had a fun time, but I wouldn’t want to go back because of the heat and the amount of walking, standing, and waiting I had to go through.
